Year Built: 1939
Designer: Christian Jensen
Builder: Anker & Jensen
Owner: Nick Booth
History: N 71 Flapper was built in Norway just prior to the outbreak of World War II. Later sold to Denmark, she was the alternate for that country's 6 meter entry in the 1948 Olympics. Flapper made her way to Maine in the early 50's and never took part in the post-war six meter scene on Long Island Sound or on Lake Ontario. She was used as a cruiser for a little while, but will now be returned to racing trim, hopefully to do battle with Toby Rodes' "Alana" in the budding six meter scene in New England. Now she is at the shop for Frame repairs additional floors , chain plate , full bottom fair and race finish. She will also have a new rudder ,bow repair and rigging work. |
